WELCOME TO KANTOR & COMPANY ACADEMY AND APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

“The desire to learn has always been an important part of my life and career. Having an open mind and being a perpetual student has fueled my business. It has been a lifelong dream to open a hairstyling school where I can empower people to reach their full potential as a hair designer and artist. Kantor & Company Academy and Apprenticeship program focuses on the art of hairstyling. The Academy specializes in consultation, client relations, and business building. This goes along with the skills of styling, precision cutting,  coloring, texture treatments, and most importantly, teamwork.

The idea for the school started when I first started training stylists. The typical student I helped train had completed hairstyling school and received their licence. Most of them felt insecure and unsure of where to begin with clients. My mission became to demystify the art of hairstyling. Breaking down hair cutting into patterns, like sewing. Also, making color formulas like recipes we cook with. Hairstyling is art+science with a little therapy and magic in the backdrop. My goal is to teach the art and science. Help the student to see the beauty in every person they take care of, bringing the best parts of the client forward for the world to see."

- From our Owner, Master Stylist & Lead Educator, Eileen Kantor

Small Classes. Individualized Attention.

Real-Life Practical Experience.

Learn To Be More Than Just A Hairstylist!

WHAT IS THE ACADEMY?

Kantor & Company Academy and Apprenticeship program takes roughly one year to complete. This prepares students to apply for and complete the state board exam through DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies). The hours required to take the state licensing exam will be gained in 3 ways:  theory, lab, and externing at Kantor & Company Hair Salon. This 3-part learning structure is critical to gaining competency in the hairstyling business. It is also what sets our academy apart from other hairstyling programs.

WHAT MAKES KANTOR & COMPANY ACADEMY DIFFERENT?

Our program is based in Precision Haircutting, coloring, and styling techniques from Pivot Point, the best hairstyling education entry point in the industry,  but we don't stop there. Our unique program gives you the real-life, practical experience required to learn the skills and artistry of hairstyle while also learning how to grow a clientele base. The Kantor & Company Academy approach is collaborative, efficient, and believes that hairstyling is more than simply a trade skill - it is a form of art!

In addition, here are some more reasons to consider Kantor & Company Academy:

WHO YOU'LL LEARN FROM

Kantor & Company owner and master stylist Eileen Kantor has been working in a salon for as long as she can remember. Literally. Eileen's mother ran a salon out of her childhood home. "It was just like the salon in the movie Steel Magnolias,"  she says.

Since 2003, Eileen has developed her skills, studying the art of precision haircutting at the esteemed Vidal Sassoon salon in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, and color with Redken, Schwartzkopf, Aveda, and Wella. She also worked and was a lead educator at two of Boulder's top-rated salons, Pompadours and Twig, before opening Kantor & Company Hair Salon in 2017.

Eileen’s business model focuses on detailed consultations with every client so she can understand their specific hair type, maintenance goals, and desired look. While the cut is the foundation from which she builds each client's look, color is the complement. Eileen works with each of her clients to find the haircut and color that will best empower her client's expression of their personal style. She matches color to skin tone and eye color with precision, what we call perfect color formulation, which helps her achieve the exact result she is after.

In addition to  Vidal Sassoon, Aveda, Schwarzkopf, Redken and Wella, Eileen has studied with experts at American Crew,Sebastian, Aquage, Tony and Guy, and Pravana. For more than ten years, she has been an educator, training junior stylists and helping them perfect their craft. Whether you're looking for a classic cut and natural color, an edgy, off the runway look, or something in between, Eileen can't wait to teach you how to provide the best service to the client. She will use her clear communication skills, cutting, styling and color methodology to ultimately help you walk out of Kantor & Company Hairstyling Academy and Apprenticeship Program with the hairstyling career of your dreams.
